Answering the call
I met singer/songwriter Adrian Lomas through a classified ad in a local newspaper. He was looking for a guitarist and his influences seemed like a good fit for me. After an introductory phone call, we met in Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester and exchanged cassette tapes. We struck up an instant friendship, and immediately began rehearsing, writing, and recording demos.

Radio Interview & First Performance
Our first ever performance was during an August 2000 live acoustic session on Manchester station Radio Space 106.2FM. Two songs were performed and we did a short interview with the DJ. We were nervous as hell, but well rehearsed and thankfully didn't screw anything up!
The Wonderfully Titled EP
Being an unsigned band isn't easy. You have to pay for everything yourself. After a few years playing gigs and honing our craft, enough money was saved to go into a real recording studio and record a five track EP. It was a fantastic experience and definitely something to strike off my bucket list.
The songs have been used on TV shows, played on radio in the UK and Europe (BBC, XFM) and playlisted for use in fashion stores around the world, including Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger.
“In You I Hide” can be heard in episode Season 3, Episode 4 of the hit UK show Skins where the song plays out over the final scene and end credits in the international version of the episode.
The Wonderfully Titled EP can heard in full using the player below or purchased at Bandcamp via the ‘buy’ link. Alternatively, it’s available through all the major streaming services and stores such as Apple Music, Spotify, Tunes, Amazon Music, Google Play Music, Tidal, Deezer, Shazam, Anghami, Beatport, 7digital, Napster, emusic, junodownload and 24-7.
The Big Screen
After we recorded the EP, a group of film students from Carlisle University offered to make us a free music video as part of their course work. Of course, we said yes, and they did a great job. It was later included as part of the BBC Big Screen Project, a series of 25-square-metre (270 sq ft) LED screens with sound systems situated in prominent locations around the United Kingdom.
America Calls
Life has a habit of twisting and turning. Often unpredictably. I had the opportunity to move to America, where I pursued a career as an animator. Adrian continued the band for a few more years before starting a family. I have nothing but fond memories of this period of my life, and music makes up a big part of who I am today.
More information about the band and it's music is available at twentytwentyvision.net, which is still maintained by Adrian.
